Upcoming Meeting Regarding the Federal Stimulus Dollars

Would you like to apply to for a federal broadband stimulus grant but don’t have the capacity to write and manage a federal grant application?  Would you like to partner with similar organizations in the hopes of increasing your chances to get a grant?  Communities Connect Network and Microsoft are hosting a meeting to help Washington’s community technology organizations with these challenges. 

Help us make this meeting work for you!  The agenda will be based on feedback from a short series of questions about your interests and goals for the meeting.  Please fill out our survey here.

Who Should Attend:  

·         Community Technology organizations (CTs) that would like to apply for federal stimulus dollars but are unsure how,

·         CTs who need assistance with writing, evaluating or managing a federal grant,

·         Organizations looking to partner with similar groups on joint proposals.

By the way, what is a Community Technology organization?   A few examples include:

·         Food banks that also provide access to computers,

·         Job skills training organizations that provide basic computer training, or work with people to apply for jobs via the Internet,

·         Microenterprise organizations that teach people how to use spreadsheets to manage their budgets,

·         Programs that assist people in applying for their earned income tax credit on line,

·         Computer maintenance programs that give away free computers to graduates,

·         Organizations that teach kids how to use digital cameras and video cameras,

·         Community computer access centers including libraries.
