Civic Voice Curriculum

The Metrocenter YMCA in downtown Seattle has been successfully promoting the highly-regarded Civic Voice curriculum (recently featured in a national BTOP webinar), as well as leveraging the curriculum into a partnership with Cleveland High School. They presented about their work at two national conferences: Bridge 2012 and National Coalition for Dialogue & Deliberation (NCDD) 2012. Along with a group of interns, YMCA also recently launched the Youth Voices Against Violence campaign. Working as a team, this group of interns learned about the issue of youth violence and planned and launched a national audio contest. As proof of the YMCA's accomplishments, the program won the Colleen Willoughby Civic Educators Award from City Club.
